Falanghina del Sannio is a DOC where grapes can only grow on the hills making the wines high quality, full of sapidity and with a refreshing acidity. This is a fresh and light white wine; a young expression of Falanghina – a typical variety from Campania. Scents of almonds and tropical fruits emerge from a profile that is also savoury and well-balanced. Janare, chosen to identify this type of cru, refers to the dialect word with which witches are identified. They are mythical figures in the peasant culture, alluding to the strong and indomitable character typical of the women of this land. During the day they hide their identity, going unnoticed; at night, they reveal their nature and wander around against their enemies. The name is therefore a tribute from the winery to this popular memory of the Samnites – ancient Italic people from Southern Italy.
